What’s the difference?
QuickBooks offers two add-on bookkeeping assistance services. Assisted Bookkeeping provides guidance and coaching, while Full-Service Bookkeeping handles the bookkeeping for you. Either is available as an extra service with your QuickBooks service.
QuickBooks Live Assist makes certified bookkeepers available to give you a call back to answer questions you have during the work week Monday – Friday 6AM – 6PM (Pacific time), on topics like transaction categorization, automation, reconciliation, reporting. You can put in a request a callback anytime when you need a little extra help.
The service does not include cleanup of your books or a dedicated bookkeeper reconciling your accounts and maintaining your books, financial advisory services, tax advice, facilitating the filing of income or sales tax returns, creating or sending 1099s, or management of payroll.
QuickBooks Virtual bookkeeping includes a dedicated bookkeeper who handles up to $1,000 transactions per month reported by your bank and enters them into QuickBooks. The price starts at $300 per month and goes to $700 for higher volume clients.
What else?
It is important to know that the first month includes a cleanup fee at a higher price.
Is it worth it?
These services set a baseline for the industry. Private firm bookkeepers offer a wider range of more personalized services at the same price so that is always my preference. Besides, I’ve met many independent bookkeepers and they are great hardworking business owners like you and me, so we share that strong work ethic.
Do I need it?
If you are asking, then maybe not. If the only reason you do bookkeeping is to have tax records, then there may be an easier way.
How can I learn more?
Schedule a call to discuss your situation. Every business is different, and we can discuss the most effective bookkeeping approach for your small business.
